About Us

Andy Skrabalak created his company, Angel Dee’s Coins and Collectibles® in June of 1994, with the help of his wife, Alynne. When he decided to start a coin business, he had rekindled a passion for collecting again after many years of leaving the hobby as a teenager. The Angel Dee’s name is a tribute to his late sister, Dorothy, who had held on to his collection for him for all of those years. His Lincoln Cent collection that he had built growing up was worth more in 1994 and the money he made selling it was what he used to start the company.

Because of this personal connection to his sister, he prides himself on doing things a bit differently. He is dedicated to providing the most desirable coins to his customers, as well as building long-term relationships through fair pricing and personal service.

Andy is recognized in the industry as one of the top authorities and graders of Lincoln Cents and Buffalo Nickels and has maintained a large inventory in both of these series. He has assisted in assembling many of the top collections of all time.

While assisting the owner to improve the Thomas Irwin #1 ranked registry set, he was able to facilitate the sale of the only 1943-D Copper Cent known to exist that sold for $1.7 million dollars in 2010 and the owner donated the money to charity.

For the Buffalo Nickel series, he worked four years to facilitate the sale of Mr. Tommy McCarroll’s #1 ranked registry set to Mr. Gerald Forsythe. What are your purchasing terms & conditions?

Please contact us to reserve an item. PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT WITHOUT RESERVING YOUR ITEM, as many items are “one-of-a-kind” and may have already been reserved or sold.

We will reserve the item for you if it’s still available and you will receive a confirmation from us.

If you are paying by PayPal, debit or credit card, we will send you an invoice to the email address you provide in your inquiry email. You will have 3 days to pay. When we receive your payment and it has cleared, we will send your item.

If you are paying by check, money order or cashier’s check, we should receive it within 7 days. These payment types are no longer considered immediate funds and it may take up to 7 business days for them to clear. Once cleared, we will send your item.

If we do not receive payment within the time allowed, the order will be canceled and the items will be returned to stock.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payments must be made in U.S. funds. We accept checks, money orders, cashier’s checks and the following credit cards processed through PayPal: VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Paypal, Paypal Credit.

If you have a PayPal account, you are welcome to use it. If you do not have a PayPal account and you would like to pay by credit card or debit card, you do not need a PayPal account to pay your invoice; PayPal will process your credit card or debit card for us on their secure site.

In addition, you can buy now and pay later on eligible purchases with PayPal Credit. Simply choose PayPal Credit in PayPal checkout.

What is your return policy?

When ordering coins site-unseen, including from our photos, you have a seven-day return privilege from the date you receive the items, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon by both parties. Shipping and handling costs are not refundable. The return privilege is only valid if the coins remain in their original undamaged holders.

What are your shipping costs?

For orders $2,500 and over shipped to a U.S. address, the package will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail Express at no additional charge to you. Your signature will be required.

For orders under $2,500 shipped to a U.S. address, we will add $15 for shipping and handling per package. The package will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation.

At this time, we do not ship outside of the United States.

Do you offer interest-free layaway?

Yes, interest-free layaway service is available on items over $1,000. The first payment will include a 10% non-refundable deposit. Please contact us to discuss mutually agreeable terms when reserving your item.

Additional Information for Virginia and Minnesota Residents

ATTENTION VIRGINIA RESIDENTS:

VIRGINIA IS NOW TAX-FREE! House Bills 3 and 936ER were signed in 2021 to extend the sunset date for the sales-tax exemption on gold, silver, and platinum bullion and legal tender coins through July 1, 2028. Now legal-tender coins, gold, silver, and platinum purchases no longer need to exceed $1,000 to be tax-exempt.

ATTENTION MINNESOTA RESIDENTS:

The Minnesota Bullion Coin Dealers Law (Chapter 80G) became effective July 1, 2014. The statute affects coin dealers residing in Minnesota and any coin dealers outside of Minnesota, who buy and/or sell to Minnesota consumer residents, regardless of where the transactions take place.

Unfortunately, the costs to comply with this onerous law make it prohibitive for us to do business with Minnesota residents unless they are also dealers registered under the Minnesota Bullion Coin Dealers Law. Therefore, we will no longer buy and/or sell items that contain gold, silver, platinum, or palladium to Minnesota non-dealer residents. Thank you in advance for understanding this decision that we must regrettably make.
